The local development programme « Pays Cathare » adopted by the Conseil Général in 1989, then by the Europeen Union in 1992, has for base to use the historical patrimony as lever for an economical development.
The sites said as « pôles » have held our attention because of they represent a monumental patrimony, benefitting of safeguard, conservation and valorizing actions.
From 1992, two other orientations have completed this dispositif : the land’s entertaining by the local actor’s implication and the trademark Pays Cathare® political attribution, used to valorize the « Audois » products and services.
Part of this programme, the Sites of the Cathar Country Association is a tool created by
the « pole » site’s owners to make their actions more coherent and to be more implicated in the programme.
